As a lifestyle photographer, I love capturing the connections that make a family unique — especially when the whole gang gets together!
I recently spent time with the gorgeous Hitchen clan at a precious beach holiday house that’s been in the family for generations. With grandparents, adult siblings and their partners, and a whole gaggle of cousins, there was plenty of love, laughter and family chaos to capture.
Extended family photography is such a lovely way to document these relationships, from grandparents spending time with their grandchildren to cousins playing together and adult siblings catching up. And with everyone in one place, it’s a chance to get those important group photos, too.
Whether it’s a family holiday, a milestone birthday or simply an excuse to get everyone together, an extended family session captures this particular moment in your family’s story — all the different generations, personalities and connections that make it yours.
Extended family sessions truly hold a special place in my heart. If you’re thinking about organising a photo session for your own extended family, you can find out more about my Melbourne extended family photography sessions here.
